Check your mailbox — The War Amps has embarked on its annual Key Tag Campaign.
The organization is mailing out hundreds of thousands of tags to homes across New Brunswick.
Spokesperson Jamie Lunn says the tags, which have a confidentially coded number linked to your address, act as a safeguard for your keys.
“If you were to ever lose them, the person who finds them can drop them into any Canada Post mailbox or they can call the 1-800 number on the back and they can be mailed back to you,” said Lunn.

The program was launched after the Second World War by amputee veterans who wanted to keep giving back.
To date, Lunn said over 1.5 million sets of keys have been returned through the program.
“The high replacement costs of electronic keys and remote devices is insane for some people,” she said. “It’s really hard for some people to be able to cover those costs when they lose their keys.”
The service is free, but donations are accepted to help The War Amps fund artificial limbs and programs for amputees.
