Saddened to hear of the passing of former NB senator and community leader Erminie Cohen. An Order of NB recipient, she was a life-long volunteer and champion for the less fortunate. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. pic.twitter.com/JsMlAhRMsC

Before becoming a senator, Cohen was named to the first New Brunswick Advisory Council on the Status of Women in 1978 and co-founded Saint John Women for Action.
She was also a founding board member of Hestia House in Saint John, which offers shelter to abused women and children.
After her retirement, Cohen helped set up the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation to build awareness around adoption.
I will be honoured to stand in the House of Commons next week and pay tribute to the life of former Senator Erminie Cohen 🙂. It will be a privilege and an honour. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/Y7BLuN62SV
