A photo which appears to show a Kennebecasis Regional Police Force vehicle parked in an accessible spot has prompted an investigation.
Nathan MacDougall posted to the photo to social media on Saturday afternoon.
In a Facebook post, MacDougall says the officer had “absolutely no handicap showing” when they got out of their vehicle at the Quispamsis McEsso.
The photo has since been shared over 2,000 times.
On Saturday evening, Kennebecasis police shared a statement to Facebook saying they had been made aware of the photo.
In an email to our newsroom, police Chief Wayne Gallant says the alleged incident is “clearly not acceptable”.
“To ensure transparency and independence I have referred the matter to the [Saint John Police Force] and I fully expect them to follow up as quickly as appropriate to the circumstances,” Gallant said.
