Difficult economic challenges have claimed another business in uptown Saint John.
Spicer Merrifield Gallery said in a Facebook post that it will be closing on Jan. 27.
The fine art, craft and jewellery gallery first opened its doors on Prince William Street in 2020.
“Spicer Merrifield Gallery opened during a turbulent time, and it’s no secret that the past years have posed difficult economic challenges for all,” said the post.
“We have been lucky to add life to our city and province, encouraging and participating in critical creative expressions, but unfortunately see ourselves in a position where we have made the decision to close.
“Although this news is bitter-sweet, we value the memories and the artwork that has lived in our space for the betterment of our community.”
