A 43-year-old Campbellton man is in police custody after he was charged with two counts of drug trafficking following an investigation in the area.
Members of the RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit and Campbellton RCMP searched a vehicle on July 12 during a targeted traffic stop on Route 11.
Mounties arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene and police discovered quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine pills and money.
They also discovered additional quantities of the substances, as well as drug-trafficking paraphernalia, including digital scales and hidden compartment containers, during a search of a home on Dover Street the same day.
Investigators say James Aaron St-Onge, from Campbellton, appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court on July 13 by way of tele-remand and was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.
He was remanded into custody and was scheduled to return to court on July 18, at 9:30 a.m., for a bail hearing.
