Legislation is going to be tabled at Parliament Hill after Question Period around gun control in Canada.
The bill will be presented sometime Monday by Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino.
Previous version included mandatory buyback of assault style firearms, as well as limiting access to high-capacity magazines and more effort to curb gun smuggling.
The current Liberal government has promised to work with all provinces and territories that seek banning handguns entirely, though a national ban is not expected to be presented in the latest bill.
More details will be provided as they become available.
