Saint John will welcome the return of the Night Market in less than two weeks.
On June 2, the City Market will head outside and extend its hours every Thursday evening for the Night Market.
“We bring vendors in from inside and outside the city, we open up on the outside of South Market Street, part of North Market Street, and along the front of the market as well, which is along Germain Street. We bring in vendors, and food trucks, as well, Uncorked Tours has the whole area licensed, so you can grab a local beer as you vend,” said Andrew MacDonald, manager of the City Market.
“Of course, we are also going to have live entertainment as well. It will be a mix of singer/songwriters some nights, and bands on other nights, so a lot of fun stuff happening,” continued MacDonald.
For the second year in a row, the inside of the City Market will remain open during Night Market hours.
“So people will be able to see some of our regular vendors, some of them are going to have special features for the Night Market, we will also bring some pop-ups to that space, but also it’s going give us space to house extra vendors on those Thursday nights if the weather is a little bit off,” mentioned MacDonald.
MacDonald added that the plan is to keep the Night Market running until October 13.
“We want to keep a little bit of space for any producers, farmers, or whoever wants to come, plus there’s a late-night cruise ship in on the 13th of October, so we will remain open for that as well.”
