Two new constables for the Saint John Police Force.
During a ceremony, Constables Robert Milley and Dawson Warner were officially sworn in.
Constable Milley is originally from Saint John, but served with Summerside Police, while Constable Warner travelled across the country after serving with the Vancouver Police Department.
Chief Robert Bruce mentioned both have experience and are highly qualified.
“Anytime we can add quality people to our organization and serve the community it’s a great day.”
Both constables will be replacing retired officers.
“We have six vacancies of retirement, so (the two) will fill two spots, so there are four more spots, but you don’t know what’s coming this summer because people tend to retire in the summer.”
Bruce added they are always looking for recruits.
“But, we won’t lower our standards, so if we have to be vacant for a while so we can continue the process we will do that.”
