There will be temporary closures of the emergency department at the Sussex Health Centre this weekend.
A news release from Horizon Health on Friday says the temporary closures are due to a nursing shortage.
The ER will close at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
“The Emergency Department will not be seeing patients and clients during the temporary closures and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals,” Horizon said in the release.
“All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital.”
Regular 24-hour emergency department hours will resume on Monday at 7:30 a.m.
There were similar temporary ER closures at the health centre last weekend and in late March.
