The short-term forecast looks promising for communities along the Saint John River basin.
The latest River Watch forecast shows water levels slowly beginning to fall over the coming days.
Jemseg and Gagetown were the only two areas above flood stage as of Wednesday morning.
Saint John-Quispamsis and Sheffield-Lakeville corner are within half a metre of flood level.
Seven other communities are currently within one metre of flood stage, including Oak Point, Hampton, Grand Lake, Maugerville, Fredericton, and Durham Bridge.
Water levels are expected to begin falling Tuesday in Fredericton, Maugerville and Durham Bridge.
Other communities like Sheffield-Lakeville Corner, Jemseg, Grand Lake, Gagetown, Oak Point, Hampton, and Saint John-Quispamsis will see slight increases over the next day or so before water levels begin to fall.
