Nova Scotia’s Jeopardy! superstar has secured her tenth straight win.
Mattea Roach took home another $17,000 on the game show on Monday night.
Host Ken Jennings praised the 23-year-old saying Canada could soon be revered as the birthplace of elite Jeopardy! players.
“Could this neighbour to the north, a land that has given the world so much, also become revered as a birthplace of elite Jeopardy! superstars?” Jennings said. “The nine game streak of our law school tutor would certainly seem to argue the case.”
Roach faced off against fellow Canadian Caitlyn Hayes, a musician and educator from North Vancouver.
The victory brings her total winnings to nearly $228,000.
A surprisingly serviceable Canadian accent at the end of Ken's intro!! So excited to rep Canada with @caitlinjhayes tonight (Sarah is wonderful as well but alas, not a fellow traveler) https://t.co/CG1XN8gZ0Y
