There will be another round of temporary emergency department closures in Sussex this weekend.
Horizon Health announced the closures in a news release Thursday, citing “critically low staffing levels.”
The ER will close at 5:30 p.m. Friday, and will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday,
“The Emergency Department will not be seeing patients and clients during the temporary closures and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals,” Horizon said in the release.
“All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital.”
Regular 24-hour emergency department hours in Sussex will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday.
People with non-urgent medical needs are encouraged to call Tele-Care 811 with questions about the type of medical attention they require or book a virtual appointment through eVisitNB.
There were similar temporary ER closures at the health centre from March 25 to 28.
