New Brunswick health officials are reporting 13 deaths related to COVID-19 over the past week.
That is according to the latest update of the COVID-19 dashboard, which includes data from March 20 to 26.
Public Health says the deaths involve one person in their 50s, three in their 70s, two in their 80s, and seven 90 and over.
The deaths were reported in five of the province’s seven health zones, with the Moncton health region reporting the most at seven, followed by the Fredericton and Bathurst regions with two each.
There are 142 people in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of 13 since the last update one week ago. Figures show 66 were admitted for COVID-19 while 76 were admitted for other reasons.
One person under the age of 20 is in the hospital.
Of those in the hospital, eight are in an intensive care unit, a decrease of eight. The number of people on a ventilator has dropped by two to three.
Hospitals across the province are now at 90 per cent occupancy while intensive care units are at 73 per cent occupancy.
The number of health care workers isolating related to the virus stands at 633, up from 490 a week ago.
Over the past week, the province recorded 3,096 positive PCR tests and 4,551 rapid tests.
There have been a total of 49,877 positive rapid tests since the province started reporting the figure on Jan. 5.
When it comes to vaccinations, 93 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, 87.6 per cent have received two doses, and 51.2 per cent have received a booster dose.
