The New Brunswick Adoption Foundation is celebrating 20 years of promoting and supporting adoption.
Executive director Suzanne Kingston said they are proud of the work done over the past two decades to help New Brunswick’s most vulnerable children.
“We have been here to advocate for children, to promote adoption and permanency, and to support adoptive families,” said Kingston in a news release.
“We will be celebrating the lives transformed, the families who opened their hearts and their homes, and the many who help along the way.”
The foundation is marking the special occasion with the launch of its Seeds of Compassion fundraising campaign.
Campaign chair Diane Lord said they have already passed the halfway mark with more than $50,000 in support.
“Over the last 20 years, many have been cultivators, planting the seeds of compassion in support of the Foundation,” said Lord in the release.
“This campaign helps us continue to nurture this precious garden for years to come.”
Acadia Broadcasting, which owns this radio station, is the legacy donor while the Medavie Health Foundation is the presenting donor.
Meanwhile, the foundation is also seeking nominations for the 2022 Erminie Cohen Compassion Award.
The award was created in memory of the late senator and founder of the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation.
“The annual award will go to individuals who exemplify the similar passion and dedication that Erminie demonstrated for children without families in New Brunswick,” said the foundation.
Nominations will be accepted until April 27 with the winner being announced in May.
The recipient will be recognized during the foundation’s anniversary celebration in Saint Andrews on June 5.
