Spring arrives in New Brunswick this weekend but we all know the arrival of consistent spring-like weather is another story.
The Weather Network meteorologist Tyler Hamilton reminds us that winter can still make guest appearances.
“(In southern New Brunswick), there’s still an additional 50 to 75 centimetres of snow in the first half of spring.”
Hamilton says flooding is always a concern at this time of year.
“The best we can hope for is temperatures remaining relatively near seasonal and a slow melt throughout the month of April into early May.”
The spring equinox officially arrives at 12:33 p.m. on Sunday (March 20) when day and night are roughly the same length.
The days will continue to get longer until the summer solstice on June 21.
