Four people have been arrested following a string of thefts from businesses in Greater Moncton from Wednesday to Friday last week.
Codiac RCMP identified a vehicle on Friday thought to be connected to the incidents at a Kennedy Street hotel in Dieppe.
Two men and two women in their 20s were apprehended and a search recovered more than 200 stolen items – mostly high-end cosmetics.
“These individuals targeted specific businesses and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of high-end cosmetic products. To make these arrests and recover stolen property highlights excellent police work by the New Brunswick RCMP,” said Staff Sgt. Dave MacDonnell with Codiac RCMP.
“We are aware that these individuals have been active in other provinces, and are working with police in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island to determine other victims.”
The four were each charged with two counts of theft in Moncton Provincial Court on Friday:
- Sara Constantin, 22
- Denisa Preda, 22
- Luigi Jurnea, 22
- Fior-Founut Baboc, 20
They were remanded into custody and are scheduled to return to court on December 8th at 2 p.m. for a bail hearing.
