New Brunswick’s premier used the COVID-19 briefing Thursday to discuss to province’s economic recovery plan.
Premier Blaine Higgs said he plans to reveal more details in the days to come.
“As our province slowly moves into it’s initial recovery phase, I want to caution you that it will not be as easy as flipping a light switch,” Higgs said.
Higgs said we have to act strategically opening businesses slowly as we adapt to our new reality.
He said New Brunswick has done excellent work in flattening the curve, but the next step is just as important.
Premier Higgs is thrilled to hear of no new cases.

Higgs also addressed pharmacists and the extra dispensing fees due to a limit on refills ordered by the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists to prevent shortages.
He said these additional dispensing fees have an impact on seniors and low-income residents where some will choose food over medicine.
“That is why we made the decision to overide the 30-day prescription drug limit effective [Friday]. People who have been paying additional dispencing fees and co-pays don’t need to where a supply issue does not exist,” Higgs said.
A provincial working group will be established to address concerns about shortages.
