The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many things, but not the deadline to get your studded tires removed.
That is despite the province telling people to stay at home where possible as part of the state of emergency.
“The requirement to have studded tires removed before May 1st remains in place and has not been extended,” wrote Geoffrey Downey, a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety, in an email Thursday.
Police say failing to take your studded tires off could result in a fine of $172.50.
In late March, when the state of emergency was first declared, the province announced all vehicle licences, registrations and inspections which were valid as of March 16 will remain valid until May 31.
