The Cherry Brook Zoo is one of many organizations trying to stay afloat while being closed to the public.
Executive Director Martha McDevitt said they are sharing videos online so people can experience a virtual tour of the zoo.
She said they have featured different animals every day including porcupines and lions.
“People can comment, they can interact with us that way. We also have a YouTube channel which some people might find it a little easier to access all the videos people are posting,” McDevitt said.
McDevitt says they are still asking for donations with some people giving $2.00 while others are donating $1,000 and more.

The zoo is also offering a one-of-a-kind art experience in a painting created by an animal that is featured in a silent auction to be bid on.
McDevitt said the animals that take part seem to enjoy it.
“It’s enrichment for them for sure. The smell, the texture, the canvas. Everything about it is engaging and we don’t force animals to do anything they don’t want. It may not always go to plan and they may just be like ‘no!” McDevitt said.
She said the animals at the zoo are unaware of the pandemic but, they still need to be fed.
