Saint John Transit passenger will have to start paying fares once again next week.
Fare collection was suspended on March 19 while a safe alternative could be put in place to protect transit drivers during the pandemic.
Plexiglass barriers are being installed, meaning fares will be collected again starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
All 46 buses in the fleet are being retrofitted to protect their drivers but the process will not be complete until early May.

On buses with barriers, passengers must enter and pay the fare via the front door. On buses without barriers, fares will not be collected and passengers must get on and off through the rear door.
Physical distancing remains in effect and March bus passes are valid throughout April.
Parking enforcement also returns on Tuesday at 8 a.m. The Saint John Parking Commission will be enforcing on- and off-street parking regulations and be handing out tickets for infractions.
