Emera New Brunswick is donating $25,000 to help vulnerable populations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The donation will go towards United Way’s Atlantic Compassion Fund.
A statement from Emera’s New Brunswick General Manager Rob Belliveau says the money is meant for the province’s most vulnerable populations.
“Added to the donations of other local businesses, our contribution will help the United Way to provide timely assistance to those most in need in Saint John, Kings and Charlotte County now and in the coming weeks,” said Belliveau.
The release stated the Atlantic Compassion Fund is directed at people currently experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental illness, precarious employment and food insecurity.
