You may not be able to go to the bank, as more companies take precautions against the coronavirus.
Officials from Canada’s six major banks say they are taking steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19, which includes enhanced cleaning and temporarily closing some locations.
Those are Bank of Montreal, CIBC, National Bank of Canada, RBC Royal Bank, Scotiabank and TD Bank. Signs will be posted on the branch door indicating if they’re closed, and each of the bank’s websites will update their branch locator service to show if a branch is closed due to COVID-19.
They say you should contact them if you are in a difficult financial position during the pandemic. The companies say they are offering help like deferring mortgage payments for six months. Special loans to cover living expenses may also be offered.
