Business owners in Saint John are being urged to make sure their alarm and video surveillance systems are in good working order.
The Saint John Police Force says it has seen a spike in reported commercial break, enter and thefts over the past couple of months.
“These reports are mainly concentrated in the area of Rothesay Avenue, Ashburn Lake Road, Bayside Drive, Golden Grove Road, Chesley Drive and Manawagonish Road,” read a news release from the police force Friday.
Police said the culprits appear to be focusing on outside sheds, sea containers, storage units and locked compounds.
They said some of the items being targeted include copper wire, power tools, tires and electronics.
