Construction timelines are unclear but everyone can get an idea of what The Crossing on Ashburn Lake Road at Highway 1 will look like when it’s finished.
Troy Northrup of Horizon Managment says this new project will include gas stations, convenience stores, fast food and a business park.
The province previously announced a new interchange will be built in this area and Northrup says incremental traffic is crucial.
“This project certainly enables us to have that incremental traffic to create more spontaneous traffic rather than just pre-determined and destination traffic,” says Northrup.

Over one-third of the property will be set aside as green space and recreational land.
We asked Northrup, who is also the developer behind East Point Shopping, how much the project will cost.
“It’s significant,” he says. “In comparison, East Point is 80 acres, this project is 120 acres plus 60 acres which is green space.”
We’re told some processes are being worked on, but once that’s complete, shovels should be in the ground right away.
