A man is facing several charges, including child luring, following an investigation near Fredericton.
RCMP said they received a report involving online child luring in the Burton area last week.
“Early in the investigation, a 30-year-old man was identified as a person of interest,” RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.
Police searched a residence on Route 102 in Burton on Friday and arrested a 30-year-old man at the scene.
He has since been charged with luring a child under the age of 14 and transmitting child pornography.
The man is also charged with failing to comply with a prohibition order and an undertaking.
Due to a previous conviction, the accused was prohibited for life from communicating with anyone under the age of 16 and from attending any place that someone under the age of 16 is reasonably expected to be.
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.
