Howdy folks! Here’s a quick update from Canada Day weekend and a look-ahead to what’s up this weekend, July 5th-7th.
We kicked off the weekend by celebrating our friends Taco Boys’ anniversary on Saturday!
Sunday got rained out yet again. Shucks! But that didn’t stop Canada Day from being a FANTASTIC day to celebrate our country outside and in style. I kicked it off in Grand bay at the 10 mile and 5K road race that was happening in the suffocating heat. Congrats to all finishers! Then it was off to the Peninsula at the Moss Glen legion. They had a big ol’ bash with BBQ, bouncy castles, firetrucks where kids could try spraying the hose to knock down cones, and a FROG RACE. This was a super fun tradition I’m so glad I witnessed. After the legion I stopped by KV and Rothesay areas before making my way into the thick of it in Saint John. Live music everywhere. Great food, great company, and an all around good time. I hope everyone had a wicked Canada day! Scroll to see a few of the many photos taken last weekend and to get the insider scoop of this weekend’s plan.
This weekend there is rain forecast so we’re kicking off the weekend a little early!
Friday 5th of July I will be at Dominion Park with Chapmans ice cream to give away around 1PM. Get there quick before it all melts away!
A little after that at 4PM there is a free production of 101 Dalmatians the Musical and other songs/scenes being put on at St. Marks United Church as part of Broadway Bootcamp that is being hosted there this week by Music from the Heart. I will be there with snacks for you all to much on while enjoying upcoming theatre excellence.
Saturday will find me first at the Port City Emergency Veterinary Hospital BBQ happening from 10-2 at 212 McCallister Drive.
Then it’s another big celebration happening for our friends at Broken Pieces Rage Room. It’s their anniversary and they are having a party with cake and giveaways from 1-5PM on Saturday at their location on Rothesay Ave. PLEASE come check them out. Once you’ve had the chance to smash up some stuff all carefree and in a safe/controlled environment you will understand how soothing it is for the soul and you will want to come back. Cannot wait to see you there!
