More and more people continue to call the Saint John region home.
Statistics Canada released its latest population estimates this week.
As of July 1, 2023, the population of the Saint John census metropolitan area stood at 138,985.
That was an increase of 3,400 people, or around 2.5 per cent, compared to a year earlier.
The city of Saint John saw the most substantial growth. It grew by more than 2,300 residents to 75,015.
Rothesay’s population now stands 12,521, the population of Quispamsis is now at 19,874, and Grand Bay-Westfield saw a slight increase to 5,174 residents.
Meanwhile, the province’s total population grew from 809,568 to 834,691, an increase of around three per cent.
