The Lancaster Mall area on Fairville Boulevard was the scene of an armed robbery.
On Monday, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Saint John police responded to a robbery at a restaurant in the Lancaster Mall area.
It is alleged that the suspect robbed the store for money while armed with a weapon.
The suspect is described as being in his 30s, wearing a mask, blue hoodie, pants, and carrying a green reusable shopping bag.
Officials mention in a release that the suspect fled on foot, travelled around the back of the building, and headed west towards Highway 1 near the intersection of Bleury Street and Fairville Boulevard.
The K9 unit was also part of the investigation and located several articles of evidence including a weapon, however, a suspect was not apprehended.
Police report no physical injuries to civilians or personnel. The Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit are also investigating.
Police are asking witnesses or anyone in the area that has dashcam or video surveillance of the incident to come forward.
