Executive Director Lisa Griffin said this includes one along the Petitcodiac riverfront that replaces the well-known turtle mural.
“Right now Sbuone is doing a mural there. It is going to be a nice space there. Creative Works is using the space as a patio and he does the art market, so we are really happy to be able to give him some colour,” added Griffin.
Griffin noted that a special activity is planned for Saturday, for those who want to learn more about the murals, “I’ll take you on a free walking tour of some of the new ones and old ones and actually give a good idea of the stories behind them, how they got there and the anecdotal information that is really interesting that you don’t know just by looking at a mural.”
Tomorrow is Big Saturday, with workshops and other arts and cultural activities.
Festival Inspire was founded in 2014 to activate imagination in the celebration of all things ART in Atlantic Canada.
This year, the Festival also launched in other communities including Saint John, Woodstock, Caraquet, and Edmundston. Charlottetown and Shediac are still to come.
