New Brunswickers are not happy with how the Higgs government is responding to some of the province’s top issues.
That is according to the results of an online survey conducted by the Angus Reid Institute in June.
Nearly two-thirds of New Brunswickers said health care and cost of living are front of mind for them.
That was followed by housing affordability (33 per cent), senior care (23 per cent), the economy (21 per cent) and climate change (21 per cent).
Nine-in-ten respondents said the province is doing a poor job at helping to fight the rising cost of living.
The Higgs government is also facing criticism on the health file, with 83 per cent saying it is doing a poor job at managing health care.
Of the 13 issues identified in the survey, criticism was more likely than not on every key file except for one: its response to COVID-19.
Overall, just 23 per cent of respondents said the province has done a “good job” across all issues, the second lowest grade in the country behind only Manitoba.
That is down from a high of 42 per cent recorded just 18 months earlier.
