It has been a very demanding season for Baymount Outdoor Adventures at Hopewell Rocks.
Co-Owner Shaun Gibbs says booking inquiries began coming in a couple of months ago, “I’d say the inquiries started early May this year, and since then, June has been going nuts and we’ve had a lot of extra bookings, more so than usual.”
Gibbs adds it has been the busiest season in the twenty years he has worked with ‘Kayaking the Rocks tours’.
“I would say around 90 per cent of our bookings are from outside of the province right now,” added Gibbs. “They drive through, do a couple of things in New Brunswick, and they’re on their way to Nova Scotia and to Prince Edward Island. A few have said they were on their way to Newfoundland as well.”
Gibbs mentioned that around 50 to 60 per cent of their tours are already booked into August, and the weather has been very good so far for the tours.
Normally they book about 18 people on a tour, but they’re trying to do that three or four times a day.
Gibbs is optimistic for 2023 as well, saying “I think we will see this trend continue next year as well because gas prices and cancelled flights are deterring some this year.
