It’s a first for the Loch Lomond Villa.
The Saint John nursing home will host a hiring fair for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses on two days this month.
CEO Cindy Donovan said the vacancies came about in part due to retirements by long-time staff.
“If people come with their resumes and their criminal checks and the information we need and they pass through the interview process, we are prepared to hire them right on the spot, at these two fairs,” Donovan said.
Donovan said prospective employees need to bring along their resume, valid New Brunswick RN or LPN registration, proof of COVID vaccination, and a criminal record check dated within the last six months.
“It is a drop-in, anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided because [on] these days, we’ll be having our BBQs that we have every Friday. There will be a team here to answer any questions about pensions and benefits, what the pay rate is,” Donovan said.
The initial goal is to fill vacancies for the three RNs and three LPNs immediately, she said.
The hiring fair is being held on July 15 and July 22 in the main entrance (central lounge) of the Loch Lomond Villa, located at 185 Loch Lomond Road in east Saint John.
