Saint John police dealt with a daylight carjacking, assault and collision on the east side.
At around 11 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to Golden Grove Road where a 58-year-old woman told officers a man threw something at her vehicle while she was driving.
When she stopped, the man assaulted her and stole her vehicle, police said. She suffered non-life threatening physical injuries.
Later, police said the suspect crashed into three other vehicles on Rothesay Avenue near the Leon’s outlet.
A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene of the last collision for robbery and criminal
driving-related offences. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening physical injuries.
A 56-year-old man, an occupant of another vehicle involved in the collision with the suspect vehicle, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening physical injuries.
Both the Forensic Identification Unit and Traffic Reconstruction were called to the scene on Rothesay Avenue.
The road was closed to traffic between McAllister Drive and Retail Drive for more than three hours.
The Major Crime Unit of the Saint John Police Force is still looking into the incident.
There is no information at this time on a scheduled court appearance.
