Hereditary Chief Stephen Augustine of Elsipogtog First Nation is being recognized for advancing Mi’kmaq studies, and for sharing his scholarly expertise and traditional knowledge with private and public organizations.
Appointees also include former sprinter Donovan Bailey, women’s hockey pioneer Angela James, and actress Sandra Oh from Grey’s Anatomy.
All of the appointees will be formally recognized at a later date.
