Canada seems to be a little less picky when it comes to cleaning habits.
A survey of more than 32,000 people across 33 countries was completed by Dyson over the winter months.
When looking at cleaning large furniture pieces (like mattresses and couches), only a select few actually vacuum them regularly.
- 68 per cent of people surveyed vacuum their mattress, compared to 80 per cent of Canadians NOT sucking up the microscopic life that lives on your sleeping surface.
- 36 per cent of Canadians clean their couch versus the 50 per cent of individuals across the world that go digging for change and crumbs in the cushions.
Canadians, also don’t give much thought to dust when compared to our North American partners.
Only 1 in 6 Canadians actually clean their house five times a week, that’s compared to the 40 per cent in the US and Mexico.
Canucks aren’t really into doing a deep clean either. Across the world, 71 per cent of respondents said they do a deep clean at least once a month, compared to Canadians at 36 per cent.
It seems that Canadian pet owners are also more lax than our global counter parts when it comes to our best friends and felines roaming freely in the house.
The survey suggests that 71 per cent of Canadians who own dogs, and 77 per cent of Canadian cat owners let their pets have free range of the house when no one is home. This is more than double what global cat and dog owners allow.
