Grad 2022 will look a bit more like it did in 2019 with a return to pre-pandemic events in some cases.
Zoë Watson, superintendent of the Anglophone South School District, said it’s almost an even split for indoor versus outdoor when it comes to graduation ceremonies.
“We have 14 graduations happening. About half of them are going to be inside — the more traditional, pre-pandemic type of ceremony — and about half of them will be outside,” Watson said.
It’s also the last week of school for kindergarten to Grade 8 students with report cards being handed out on Friday — a full day for students.
Watson said it’s been a hectic time for sports and field trips.
“I think our transportation team processed over 400 day trips in the month of June. Some of that may be finishing up this week as well,” Watson said.
Of the 68 principals in Anglophone South, 10 are retiring this year.
Watson said a lot of hiring is currently underway which they hope to complete by July.
