The director of engineering and works for the Town of Quispamsis is taking on some extra duties.

Gary Losier has been named president-elect of the American Public Works Association.

Losier has chaired and been involved with several association committees since joining in 1995.

He has also served as national president of the Canadian Public Works Association from 2008 to 2010.

Losier has been the director of engineering and works for Quispamsis since 1987.
