If you are thinking about topping up your furnace oil tank, it is going to cost you more.
The price for heating oil took an unexpected jump overnight when the Energy and Utilities Board invoked its interrupter clause.
It is now selling for a maximum price of just under $2.17 per litre, an increase of six cents.
The increase comes a day after heating oil prices went up by nearly five cents per litre after the usual weekly setting on Wednesday night.
Gas and diesel prices did not change overnight. The maximum price for regular self-serve is just over $2.19 per litre while diesel is selling for a maximum of just over $2.32 per litre.
