An update to Saint John’s 10-year Strategic Plan was provided to the common council on Monday.
It is a plan identifying a renewed vision that will set new long-term goals for the community.
During the meeting, city staff mentioned that they are still looking for feedback from residents.
There are several options for residents to provide feedback including the Shape Your City website.
“Although it’s a wonderful tool, lots of people will not use that tool for a variety of different reasons, so we do anticipate over the coming weeks and months that councillors will, in turn, receive feedback from members of their constituency,” mentioned John Collin, city manager.
Collin added the feedback is important as the plan must reflect the view of all residents.
“This is why we wish it all comes to the staff, so we do have to make an effort to determine whether this is a majority view or singular view, and what we are going to do with that, so we have a fair amount of work to do on the engagement we will receive.”
The final draft of the 10-year Strategic Plan is set to go back to the common council in October.
