New Brunswick’s premier addressed a sold-out Saint John Region Chamber luncheon on Monday.
Blaine Higgs spoke about provincial growth, worker shortages and healthcare, among a number of topics.
Higgs described Saint John as a “gateway for North America” thanks to recent investments in the port and the airport.
In his remarks, the premier said the province has not forgotten about the New Brunswick Museum.
“I would say that plan would be laid out in the early fall, September or October,” Higgs said.
Higgs told the business audience about a letter from an Ontario couple who moved to Southern New Brunswick. They found Service New Brunswick made their move “seamless.”
The premier also mentioned the upcoming Memorial Cup to be held in the Port City.
Higgs said he plans to take part at the beginning and at the end, adding the Saint John bid for the event had “a lot of drive and enthusiasm.”
“Convincing I would say because it was passionate about what we can deliver and the genuine impact it would have on New Brunswick,” Higgs said.
