The Fredericton Police Force has seized nearly $50,000 in illegal drugs after a vehicle search on June 1.
Officers with the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit searched a vehicle and found large amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine and hydromorphone.
Police say the bust’s street value is approximately $47,801.
The force arrested a 38-year-old man and a 27-year-old man at the scene in connection to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. One man was released and will appear in court on Aug. 2 for possession of methamphetamine.
The other suspect, identified as David John Burlet, was charged with the following:
- CDSA – possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- CDSA – possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- CDSA – possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – hydromorphone
- CDSA – possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA
- CDSA – possession of CDSA (schedule I) for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
- Proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
Police say Burlet was held in custody and is scheduled to return to court on June 6 at 9:30 a.m.
