The Weather Network has unveiled its summer forecast and it looks promising for southern New Brunswick.
Meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg says above normal temperatures are expected but the season will likely have something for everyone.
“So you can get outside and enjoy the heat and the humidity. There’s going to be lots of sunshine. If you’re not a fan of the heat, don’t worry since cold fronts will be bringing in fresher air. ”
Sonnenburg says it’s harder to predict precipitation in the summer due to the uncertainty of thunderstorms.
“However, we take a look at overall atmospheric patterns. As we head into the summer, we are going to be looking at more of a La Nina weather pattern. What that means is we probably are going to be seeing at times more moisture-laden systems.”
She adds these systems will account for a large percentage of the rainfall totals for the season.
