Optimism from the Owner of Maritime Bus as we continue to emerge from the pandemic.
Mike Cassidy says they are now seeing just as many passengers as they did in 2019, “We see 349 people a day on average on Maritime Bus. It is more of a long haul, but it is coming and we are seeing the increases.”
Cassidy adds they are also seeing business from tourism to the region, including cruise ships and hotels, “The number of people on a cruise ship, the number of people who want to have a shore excursion tour, they’re booking buses, they’re booking seats. The multi day travel, with the hotels that are being booked. The number of buses that are being required for those who fly into our region and travel our beautiful region. it all seems to be very strong as of today.”
He also notes high fuel prices are driving people to find alternatives, that includes taking Maritime Bus, “The demand for the bus service can be created when prices go up. That is a historical trend in our business. As prices rise, passenger ridership increases.”
