Two years in prison for an elderly Saint John man following an investigation into child sex abuse images.
RCMP say they searched an Ellerdale Street home last July, seizing several electronic devices and arresting a 69-year-old man.
Charles Joseph Martin appeared in court in December and was charged with possession of child pornography, to which he later pleaded guilty.
On Tuesday, Martin was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by a 20-year probation order and a 10-year firearms prohibition order upon his release.
He has been placed on the National Sex Offender Registry for 20 years and will have to submit a DNA sample.
Once he is released from prison, he will have to follow several court conditions for 10 years, which include not communicating with anyone under 16, and not attending any place someone under 16 is known to be.
