A familiar face has accepted the role of board chair for the Saint John Region Chamber.
Derrick Stanford is the former president and CEO of Saint John Airport.
Stanford held that role from 2016 until he stepped down last year.
He hopes as the region emerges out of the pandemic that the Chamber continues its role.
“As a thought leader, an advocate, and an organization that works hard for its membership, as well ensuring fair taxation, access to funds for programs, and hopefully access to new programs to help people rebuild their businesses in a post-pandemic world.”
Over the past two years, the focus has been the COVID-19 pandemic, which reduced the Chamber’s ability to provide funding for programs that it runs.
“But now we have a lot of great ideas, and we’ve made a lot of progress, and we’re glad to start to have the ability to play our previous role again, and that alone gets the Chamber excited for the future.”
Before getting elected as board chair, Stanford served as the Chamber’s vice-chair.
Honoured to accept the role of Chair of the Board for @TheChamberSJ Looking for forward to working with our engaged Board of Directors and the great Chamber team lead by our enthusiastic CEO David Duplisea
