The Progressive Conservatives and the Liberals in New Brunswick remain neck and neck in terms of voter support according to a new poll.
Narrative Research found evidence of regional differences with the Liberals being stronger in the north and the P.C.’s being stronger in the south.
One-third of respondents said they would vote P.C. and one-third said they would vote Liberal which was stable compared with three months ago.
The preference for premier remained a tight race with Blaine Higgs of the P.C.’s at 22 percent support, Roger Melanson of the Liberals at 21 percent and David Coon of the Green Party at 18 percent.
Meantime, satisfaction with the performance of the provincial government has declined compared with three months ago.
About 40 percent said they were satisfied and just over half said they were dissatisfied.
Residents in the southern part of the province were evenly split while elsewhere residents were more dissatisfied.
The results are from a sample of 607 New Brunswick adults who took part in a telephone survey from May 9-19.
