Police say a backpack containing identification belonging to a missing 20-year-old Saint John student has been found on the west side.
The ID belonging to Chi “John” Thien Tran was found Tuesday night in a black bookbag on Bayshore Beach near Sea Street.
Investigators believe the backpack may have washed ashore.
Tran was last seen on May 3rd in the Parkwood Avenue area of the north end of Saint John.
He sometimes wears his hair in a ponytail at the top of his head and is known to visit Rockwood Park.
Police searched Parkwood Avenue and Thornbrough Street in Saint John last Friday.
Those living near Bayshore Beach are being asked to search their properties and outbuildings, and review any security camera footage.
