Paddlefest has returned to the town of Saint Andrews.
It was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was scaled back in 2021.
This year, the festival will happen over the Victoria Day long weekend from Thursday through Sunday.
“It’s taken many forms over the years, but it’s always sort of combined music, nature, art, and community, so that’s always been the themes that have carried through, so we’re excited to kick off our 26th year,” said Luke MacDonald, one of the organizers of the festival.
During the interview, MacDonald mentioned the main stage and tent will be located at the town square.
“We’ve got programming there starting on the 19th all the way through Sunday, so lots going on at the main stage, and lots going on around town as well we have shows at various places around town.”
He mentioned the theme for the 2022 festival is ‘homecoming’ as several past performers will be back.
“We invited back a lot of old friends that have played the festival, acts like David Myles, Tomato Tomato, and Old Man Luedecke, so lots of great east coast artists that are synonymous with the festival.”
Paddlefest will also have outdoor activities happening throughout each day.
“We have a tandem kayak workshop with River Bay Adventures happening Saturday afternoon, so that’s for people who want to come and learn a little more about kayaking, and we got several other activities, such as our wellness hike with the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, we’ve got a lot of yoga this year,” mentioned MacDonald.
MacDonald added some events are already sold out, but for events that are not yet sold out, those interested can purchase them on the festival’s website, or at the door.
