Jeopardy! Champion Mattea Roach is back in Cape Breton this week visiting with family and friends.
Yesterday she stopped by for a club and fries at The Cedar House Bakery and Restaurant in Boularderie.
The staff took a picture with her and posted this to their Facebook page:
I grew up in Big Bras d’Or, just a few minutes down the road from The Cedar House Bakery and Restaurant, so I think this must’ve been a huge deal for the staff to get a visit from the reigning Jeopardy! champ.
Mattea was asked by Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings where her favourite place in Canada was to visit and she said Cape Breton Highland National Park that’s located by where her grandparents live in Ingonish, Cape Breton. She said she gets back there every year for a visit, her mother is from Ingonish and her father from New Waterford.
Mattea also dropped by to visit some other family members at their local community store in Marion Bridge and Tweeted this out:
Back in the homeland so I had to pay a visit to some of my earliest hardcore supporters! pic.twitter.com/cOJw8ehi6L
