Alert Ready testing is planned for this week in New Brunswick.
It is a part of the emergency alert system when phones, radios and televisions test an audible alarm followed by providing information as if it were a real event.
Compatible wireless devices will vibrate and the alert will sound at 10:55am Wednesday morning.
Alert ready was developed in partnership with several groups including federal, provincial, and territorial emergency management officials.
The Miramichi Police Force was the last to use the Alert ready system in New Brunswick. In January, they issued an Amber Alert for a missing six-year-old boy.
Alert Ready, the national emergency alert system, will be tested in New Brunswick on Wednesday, May 4, at 10:55 a.m. The test will take place on television, radio and wireless devices.
